Move the mouse freely over the canvas. A trail of "subdivision" is left in the cursor's wake: wherever the mouse lingers, the shades of grey are cut into smaller pieces.
Click to toggle between two subtly different modes of interaction.
This would probably look more interesting if, instead of
displaying random shades of grey, the subdivision were used
to control the granularity of pixels in a bitmapped image.
